ADDITIONAL INFO RE: KAYAK STEM DETAIL
For those building one of the four boats (the Venture 14, the
Resolute 16/6, the Endeavour 17 or the Reliance 20/8) presented
in Ted Moore's book KayakCraft we offer these additional
offsets to help with the stem mold layout. You may also make your
life easy by purchasing the full
size drawings (includes all stations, both stems, cockpit and
hatch full size).
The offsets are horizontal measurements from the station listed
in the table to the outside edge of the inside stem. Therefore the
stem mold that you make should be cut back to allow for the
thickness of the inside stem (normally 1" on the kayaks). See sketch
below.
