NEW SMALL BOAT PLANS - new additions to our catalogue June 2002.
STONY LAKE SKIFF
The Stony Lake skiff came to us courtesy of Ted Bogle, whose family has used the original boat on Stony Lake for three generations. Ted and his son Graham, from Calgary, were taking part in our canoe building class in Peterborough last summer, when the subject of the perfect cottage skiff came up. The Bogles kindly let us record the lines of their skiff and Steve Killing performed his magic on it. The debate over the spelling of Stony Lake has produced some interesting comments. Steve used the SmartScan which he and his son Jonathon developed for the Canadian Canoe Museum, to record the lines.

The original of this RICE LAKE ROWBOAT has also been used by a family of Peterborough area cottagers for several generations. Ted recorded the lines in 1992 and has been waiting for a chance to draw them up. This is the next boat we might want for tootling around on the Otonabee River - we could pop into town for lunch!

NEW KAYAK PLAN
The True North Expedition Kayak was inspired by Ron Frenette and friends at Canadian Canoes in Mississauga, Ontario. Ron and his keen circle of builders and paddlers, wanted a kayak with more capacity than the Endeavours and Resolutes they had built. Specifically for the bigger than average paddler taking extended trips. Now that he is retired from teaching, Ron is building more and more boats in his shop and sharing his enthusiasm by helping people build their own boats.
