Dear Ted and Joan,
A program on our boat-building group aired Nov. 15th on the Ottawa CTV-affiliate CJOH-TV. The program is called Regional contact, and features 2 stories each week of people or items of local interest. I don't know how many repeaters the station has, but they do consider all of eastern Ontario from Bancroft north to Mattawa, and from Trenth east to Cornwall, and Pontiac and Gatineau regions of Quebec, to be their local viewing audience. I managed to get in a plug not only for you, but Steve Killing, the WCHA, and some local people as well-looks like you were the only ones to make the cut.
The TV crew consisted of Joel Haslam (the host) and a camera man, and they spend 3-4 hours on the first segment in May, then another 2 hours for the wrap-up on the water. And then they had to go back to the studio and do all the editing, voice-overs, etc. My guess is that more than 95% was edited out, and therefore you could slant the program just about any way you wished, just by virtue of the particular segments that made it to air. Nonetheless, it's a keepsake for all of us, and doesn't do the boat-building business any harm, either. I'm still getting comments on it from people in town - I'm amazed by how many people make the effort to tune in on a weekly basis.
We're hoping to get down to Lindsay in mid-March for a dance, and if we can squeeze in a visit at the same time, will do so. If you're passing by here, you're always welcome.
Regards,
Al
