Boat Builders Rendezvous 2006

During the weekend of August 19th and 20th over 150 people gathered in Peterboroughto view each others work, and to learn and talk about small boat building.

Thanks to everyone who participated and making the event relaxed and informative.

Some of the highlights were:

- John Walker arriving at the marina sailing his exquisitely crafted Windloper with Kirk Wipper and Marcos Ortega as crew

- Walter Walker enjoying himself chatting with builders

- Rick Nash's slideshow in birch bark construction

- Don and BJ Curtis paddling a Sunnyside Cruiser built by Don's grandfather Walter Dean

- Seeing Steve Killing trying out as many boats as he could

- Meeting Japanese canoe builder Yasushi Nakagawa

Thanks to everyone who came and helped out and special thanks to Art and Erna Gibson for sharing their passion for sailing canoes and to Marg and Steve Killing for keeping us organized.
