New Foot Brace System for Bear Mountain C4 Sprint Racing Canoes
Sprint racing canoes are designed to go fast for short distances on flat
water. Sprint racing is the oldest organized sport in Canada and it is
interesting to note that in a culture where sports equipment evolves almost
daily - no real changes had been made to these canoes in over 60 years.
That os until Ted and Steve Killing started thinking about that fact and
talking to the coaches.

We are excited about the changes we have implemented to make these hulls
more suited to the current paddlers. To get the most out of a stroke the
paddlers need to brace themselves in these narrow tippy hulls. In consultation
with the paddlers and coaches of the Mississauga and Balmy Beach Canoe
clubs Ted has come up with an adjustable knee block and foot brace system.
The aluminum footbraces are attached to a sliding track for easy adjustment.
