Bear Mountain Plywood Kayak Kits

Ted Moores has developed a user-friendly kit that raises plywood kayak building to a new level. By introducing traditional boat building methods to the construction process, the amateur builder can achieve professional results the first time.

Bear Mountain plywood kayaks are designed by Steve Killing, an internationally respected Canadian yacht designer. It is said of his designs, “They always perform better than intended and are naturally beautiful; harmony of form and function”.

    The Enterprise is sleek, graceful and a dream to paddle. Perfect for day trips or week long excursions, you will find the boat tracks well, goes fast and behaves itself in waves.


    The hull lines for our plywood Enterprise are based on the proven wood-strip epoxy kayak Endeavour 17 by Steve Killing. Hundreds of plans have been sold and kayaks built to this design and the response has always been positive from both novice and experienced paddlers.


    Bear Mountain plywood kayaks are designed by Steve Killing, an internationally respected Canadian yacht designer. Steve combines his personal experience using small boats in competition and for recreation with a broad technical understanding of what makes a boat go through the water safely with the least amount of fuss.
